In his speech at the 2018 Alfred Kerr Awards ceremony, actor and sole juror Fabian Hinrichs passionately lamented the artistic actor as an endangered species.
The most important question for actors in the 21st century, Hinrichs said, is "Are you an artist or do you work in service?" "So that we don't perish from the truth of the world, that's why we need art. As a contradiction to the world, as an answer to our own lack." [Art] "must again become a place of the COUNTER-world, a place that is full of world, because it allows alienation from the world. A place that allows poetry, makes us subversive and thereby subverts ideologized consciousness (...) The world is full of jailers, because the world is full of dungeons. [Art] could be a window into these dungeons, a barred window to be sure, but a window nonetheless."
We can't make excuses that the world has become too complex to tell stories about. The world has always been too complex for us. It is through the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves and the world that we create that world. We are storytelling animals.

The questions of life I keep returning to in the process are:
Who am I?
What is the meaning of life?
Does God exist?
What is human nature?
What is reality?
For me it is about telling stories in different forms and exchanging them with others in order to get on the track of life.
The medium for which I burn, for which I once set out for, is cinema. I would like to serve this medium to bring forth a late, wonderful blossom.
However, I am also curious to explore new forms of storytelling in the realm of digital media. Even though there is certainly no shortage of stories, types of diversion, entertainment, content: However, I think I have observed for myself that there seems to be a need for "deep drilling" of all kinds. For experiences and insights that affect the very foundations of our lives.

The idea of the podcast is to get to the bottom of the above mentioned questions like a kind of "Jaques Cousteau of the inner worlds".
One focus of these projects is to explore acting technique, and to help me and others find a meaningful professional point of view for actors in the 21st century.
Ideally, however, they also simply enable "encounters with remarkable people."
